Self-representation refers to a situation when a person appearing in court does not have an advocate and makes their case on their own before court.

In case you failed the Means and Merit Test (MMT) JCU will still provide you for free with certain support to enable you to represent yourself before courtWe provide you with the necessary documents, stationery, legal advice, and prepare you on court etiquette and processes and what to expect.

This also means that people who are able to represent themselves in court do not have to spend any money on any other legal representative.
