Empowerment happens when communities have the knowledge of rights and procedures, the courage and strength to apply that knowledge, the support to realize their rights and have gone through a positive experience that strengthens their faith in justice and its institutions.Through outreaches, referral systems and cooperation JCU addresses barriers to justice beyond her core mandate of legal aid provision.
