Betty Okot

Betty Okot is a Legal Officer at Hoima Centre, providing legal advice, drafting pleadings and representing clients in court across Buliisa, Hoima and Kiryandongo. A large share of her daily casework involves land disputes, family maintenance and succession matters.

She trained in law at Uganda Christian University and completed the bar course at the Law Development Centre. She began her career as a court process clerk, an experience that grounds her practical understanding of how cases move through the courts.

Colleagues describe She as the first person clients ask for by name on return visits — a measure of the trust her builds with the community.
