Many injustices persist simply because people do not know their rights or the remedies the law provides. Our legal awareness work takes that knowledge to where people are — through community outreaches, barazas, school visits and sessions with persons in detention.
How we reach communities
Our teams hold sensitisation sessions with women’s groups, schools and teachers, and persons held in police cells, prisons and remand homes. We also run public awareness campaigns on radio and television, including spot messages and talk shows on the legal issues communities face most.
Why it matters
Communities that understand the law experience fewer disputes, and many conflicts that do arise are resolved at community level — before they ever reach a courtroom.
