DESCRIPTION:The Mmengo Centre held a mobile legal aid clinic under the theme “Unlocking the bottle necks to access to justice and eliminating violence against women & girls” in Lungujja Zone 8. In attendance were representatives from Police, Judiciary, UNCHR, UNDP, the RCC-Lubaga, the Resident State Attorney, Amani Family Centre, European Union, UN Women Uganda and Community Based Volunteers(CBVs).\nThe participants in attendance had the opportunity to have a Q&A session with the stakeholders where they had their queries answered. Additionally, the Mmengo Chief Magistrate – H/W Rebecca Nambusa explained the different forms of #GBV and encouraged people to report GBV intances to the police.\nThe CFPU-Old Kampala Police, ASP Nakigudde Rehema urged women to report and follow up their cases because that is the only way to acquire justice. The team also offered basic legal advice to those that needed it as well as registering new cases\n
