Mediation (Alternative Dispute Resolution)

Mediation is one of the ways through which issues brought to JCU are handled and/ or solved. It is a very time and cost-effective way to resolve disputes between two parties. It is put into action before resort can be made to court.
The mediation is started with s neutral letter from JCU which is sent to the person against whom the complaint is lodged. It is an invitation to participate in a mediation session. It is delivered to the respondent either by you as a client, through the Local Council 1 chairperson, or by a JCU paralegal.
Both parties are invited to come to the JCU office for the mediation. Either party can bring in persons to support an amicable settlement (witnesses, opinion leadersadvocates, etc.).
Duration: Two hours max. for one session. A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed when parties agree on the given case.
